Having many decades of combined experience, this powertrio Cunningham / Volt / Serra is a force to be reckoned with. Before making the move to Barcelona, Mark Cunningham started out in New York’s No Wave sensation Mars in the 70’s, played in Don King in the 80’s and is currently part of the mighty Blood Quartet. Pablo Volt is the beating heart of live dub-sensation STA, morphing his trumpet and effects into psychedelic electronics through projects like Fuego and Barba Corsini, always safeguarding the Jamaican influence. When Andreu G. Serra takes a break from house-construction, he runs experimental label Boira Discos, just released his 4th solo album “Casa” as Ubaldo and is tirelessly working on several side-projects.

The album was born from a live improvisation in Sala VOL. As the venue as well as both labels releasing this tape are rooted in Barcelona’s Poblenou neighborhood, the recording of this improv captures a rare moment of Poblenou magic… like a venus flytrap. The recording is immortalized in the Dionæa Crossroads limited edition cassette.
